Pokemon platinum

alright so pokemon platinum is coming out pretty soon and i think when its out we should have a tourney on March the 29th a week after its release so give me your ideas if you think this is a good idea

im completely down with that, but i worry whether i can do it or not, getting on wifi with my ds has been really tough lately...

I might be able to go into the tourney, but it'll be my team from Emerald probably, not that it's a bad thing, my super team just won't be done by then.

Also, is there an option where the levels can be set at like lv. 50 or something, because my team has become real unbalanced levelwise as of late?

Aw crud, can't go to Rino's house on Sundays, if it's the day before or after I probably will.

i am down for a tourney i dont know how to use wifi for my ds but i'm sure kyn could tell me how.

guys i probably didn't even say this but its a tourney where you start from scratch so its all fair you have to use your pokemon paltinum team so that it is all even for everyone

well...i dont know about that doc, i mean, not everyone is getting platinum, like punisher i know isnt, and also, i dont really get a good team until i beat the elite 4, and if we set levels i dont see why using pokemon we previously raised would be unfair, i mean, how the hell am i supposed to get a marowak by the time the tourney starts when i already have one? and some pokemon we have access to but dont really have access to, i dont want to catch another registeel just to remake the one i already have, nor am i going to toys r us for the event regigigas just to get that registeel. if we use "platinum teams" then everyone will be using a starter pokemon, there wont be like, any variety in the teams for the most part. But, then again, rino would be using his uber metagross and punisher would definately be using his mewtwo and his groudon, and probably at least 2 more ubers i can understand limiting. which leads me to my next idea, sort of a compromise,
only being allowed maybe 3 pokemon from a past version...punisher would be in a wierd place for it though.
That way it still has the "platinum tournament" theme but it would allow people to make use of the work they have already done.
btw: the main reason for that compromise is because i want my marowak and electivire/registeel/swellow/hitmonlee(2 of those), but also to limit people(punisher) from abusing the strength of a premade time tested team.

punisher, the reason this post seems to be like me picking on you is because a)you love using most ubers and b) i know most of your team so you make for a reasonable example, i also brought up rino's metagross since i also know that thing is beastly...

well kyn i dont know about mewtwo i would definitely use groudon though and i would be a slight bit irritated cuz all the new gen pokemon are gayer than a queer in a mens locker room. Save a few that i actually have. I'm thinking lvl limit is bad idea because all my decent slaves are above lvl 50 so lvl cap obviously 100 but if your pokemon are of lower lvl then we can put in something like a 10-15 lvl and even then that is pushing it. If you dont have an even number of somewhat equal level pokemon to fill six slots then whoever is lacking the battle should be based off ov how many pokemon that that person has.

I hope that makes sense. And i dont have that many ubers kyle just 3 or so and i really only use one (groudon). so thats my idea again hope it makes sense.

after some thought my idea sucks about it having to be just pokemon paltinum so iys just one huge tourney

punisher, what i meant was there is an option that puts all pokemon to level 100 based on their iv's and ev's so far, so that way its like all of them are at level 100...which is an option in diamond/pearl/platinum. MEANING, given your examples,

limiting ubers would be a good idea, like to 1 or 2
good call on skipping out on the platinum theme doc, i agree, maybe have a sub tourny for platinum teams only

no genius i was not short one if a person has lets say 6 pokemon between level 50 and 65 that they want to use and another person only has 5 pokemon in that range then the person with six pokemon can only choose 5 to fight with so that it is more even. I dont know what you were talking about iv's and ev's for i was not refering to anything related to that i was just talking about making it more even for people. (oh **** i just re-read your post are you sure about that level 100 thing i didn't think the game designers were that awesome but that kind of defeats the purpose of training your pokemon doesn't it? if the game will just put them up to level 100 automatically based on ev's and iv's.

when everyones got paltinum sub tourney will be back on for now just a normal tourney

i am sure, considering i have done it before. and that depends on what you want out of the game jordan, you can have it so they are at the level you have them at, you can set it to level 50, you can set it to level 100. i believe if it was raised to level 100 its better than being warped there for being finished but at level 60. but that im not sure on at all. also, ingame, there are levels beyond whatever, in pbr and such there isnt that option for some parts. its all up to you how you want to play it. i prefer making pokemon over leveling them to 100, but i try to level up the ones i like to 100, like marowak, hitmonlee, electivire, and swellow(not as important atm)
