| Hmm, well here's how I see it.
Link tends to be heavier and slightly more powerful than Toon Link, while Toon Link is lighter and more agile than Link.
Basically, I like Link better because he isn't as likely to get blasted off the stage as Toon Link, and even when he does his recovery is decent enough to where you can recover from most hits. Of course, if Link gets blasted off horizontally, he has almost no chance at survival. I've heard that Toon Link's is slightly better, but I'm not sure about that.
Finally, Toon Link's moves differ from Link's. Toon Link's d-air can prove to have unexpected results if you wind up sending your opponent up when you wanted to meteor him. Plus the boomerang doesn't have the wind feature for Toon Link.
In all, I believe Link is better, but for some strange reason, people tend to think the opposite.

WOW ok, counter point time *cracks knuckles* on the ground, link and toonlink do play a bit similarly, but link tends to have better tilts, and argueably better smashes. its the air that makes the difference. t.link can combo with bair and his dair is a spike that has fast fall, his recovery is INFINITELY better than links, it is just no comparison. toon links bombs have bigger blast radius, less damage, different throw path. toon links arrows fly farther and slower, which tends to be better. his boomerang doesnt hae the wind feature, but he has a wider range of angles he can throw it at and it hits on the way back. his fsmash hits twice which leads to more damage overall, his upsmash is REALLY fast for how strong it is, when he misses a grab it takes less time than link, he is faster, and speed is practically everything in fighting games, a great comparison, while exagerating, is metaknight and ganon. ganon hits WAY harder than metaknight, but his moves are slower, metaknight combos and has better recovery and faster attacks. i like link better, but that doesnt make link better. people think t.link is better for a reason...he is. although, that isnt to say link is bad(he is...). again, i like link way better than t.link, but based on ability and strengths and weaknesses, link is just outclassed by his smaller counterpart. sorry about the wall of text.

| Alright *Cracks knuckles* ouch... I would have to say it comes down to one fatal point, and that is recovery. Toon link's is way better and he is floaty... I can easily meteor a recovering link if I'm marth and have my head on straight. The main downside to Toon link is his lightness. Link takes a bit of damage to knock out where as t-l can be hit off pretty early. If you can master dash attack cancel that can be used with normal link pretty effectively. Link's upsmash can be a little unpredictable as well. Toon link's meteor is easy to dodge depending on the character, Marth=easy. I say, just go with Marth and you'll be fine. Recently I've been playing Soul Calibur III anyway, so I like Yunsung | |
