Mario is so much better than mid tier. You can ream so hard with mario if you know how to play him well. I have mario as my second main so any questions regarding mario, i sshould be able to answer. TNK Punisher

dont give your mario so much credit punisher, you still try to approach with fairs. ill admit its ok, but knock that off, fair is spike only, its bad in most other situations. opt for upairs, bairs, maybe even nairs. dont be afraid to fludd someone away from the edge, cape too. mario is pretty mid tier though. he has all the parts that MAKE someone midtier, and anyone can be good if you know what you are doing, like bowser in melee, gimpyfish. being good with a bad character doesnt make the character better. being good witha great character doesnt make them any better, bad characters are bad, great characters are great, mid tier characters are mid tier.
